Fr. Stephen Morris started this ministry in 1999. The group was named the “Bethany” to remind us of Jesus bringing Lazarus back from the dead in the Town of Bethany. Over 100 parishioners volunteered to participate in this bereavement ministry.
The group consists of lectors, Eucharistic ministers, servers, pallbearers, greeters, and parishioners who come to sing and pray at the wake and Funeral Mass. The group also provides a luncheon for family and friends after the Mass. It is a wonderful way to participate in the ministry of the parish.
The group is also looking for new members and all are welcome to participate.
